Join Dance Beyond and Ecstatic Dance Florianópolis for a transformative week-long retreat at AVIVA EYWA, a holistic center on the ‘Magic Island’ of Florianópolis in southern Brazil.
Surrounded by nature and with direct beach access, together we will dive into the depths of embodiment, connection with community, nature and much more.

We will have daily Ecstatic Dances that invite joy and liberation, participate in powerful embodiment workshops that deepen your connection to your body and inner wisdom, go on adventures in nature, experience sacred ceremonies with local wisdom carriers and enjoy live performances in the evenings.
This retreat is for anyone who loves Ecstatic Dance - whether from the US, Europe, Brazil or anywhere else - to come together in this paradisal location; to explore, grow, and heal in a supportive global community, moving beyond the ordinary in embrace of the extraordinary that lives within each of us.

Nestled in the heart of Florianopolis, Brazil lives ‘AVIVA’ - a sanctuary of tranquility and natural beauty.
Surrounded by lush forests and pristine beaches, AVIVA Retreat Center provides an ideal setting for our journey together. The space offers spacious, comfortable accommodations designed to harmonize with the natural environment around us. There are several shalas and gathering spaces for us to do yoga, movement, Ecstatic Dance, live performances, along with communal spaces for relaxation and connection. Plus all meals prepared by AVIVA are plant-based, local and organic.

You’ll need to book a flight to Florianópolis-Hercílio Luz International Airport (FLN), located in Florianópolis, Brazil. You can reach FLN with a connecting flight from major international hubs like Rio de Janeiro (GIG) or São Paulo (GRU). Shuttle transportation options from the airport to the retreat center can be available at a small extra cost,.

U.S. passport holders do not need a visa for stays in Brazil up to 90 days for tourism purposes.

The retreat takes place in February, which is Brazil’s summer season. Expect warm and sunny weather with temperatures ranging between 75-90°F (24-32°C).

The retreat will primarily be conducted in English & Portuguese - which is the local language spoken in Brazil.

The retreat is being held in Florianópolis, a beautiful island known for its pristine beaches, natural beauty, and welcoming atmosphere. Florianópolis is considered one of the safest parts of Brazil, so there’s no need to worry.
